If equipped, Ambient Lighting lets you adjust your cabin lighting to meet your needs and preferences.

HOW TO ADJUST THE AMBIENT LIGHTING

You can control Ambient Lighting using one of two methods: through the Settings menu or by tapping the Ambient Lighting app on the screen of your infotainment system. How you access Ambient Lighting depends on how your vehicle is equipped.

Choose your cabin lighting from a range of colours with the app. Through Settings, you can also create a subtle light show while in PARK with Demo Mode or enable Link to Drive Mode (if equipped) for certain preset colours to come on when you are in a particular drive mode.

To use the app:

  1. Tap the Ambient Lighting App icon on your vehicle’s infotainment screen.
  2. Select “Custom” to:
    • Change the “Accent” lighting colour — changes the colour of the light pipes throughout the vehicle.
    • Change the “Glow” lighting colour — changes the colour in areas of pin-spot lighting throughout the vehicle.
    • Change the brightness of your cabin lighting.
    • Disable the feature, if desired.

To use the Settings menu:

  1. Select Settings > Vehicle > Lighting.
  2. Scroll to the menu item you want:
    • Turn Ambient Lighting ON or OFF.
    • Control the brightness by sliding your finger along the bar scale to the desired brightness.
    • Enable or disable Demo Mode.
    • Enable or disable Link to Drive Mode.
    • Enable or disable Auto Guide Lights, if equipped.

Note: On some vehicles, Ambient Lighting will also provide supplemental white lighting in certain situations when the overhead dome lights turn on.

Q&As

Why did Ambient Lighting turn on during the daytime?

There’s a small raised area on top of your instrument panel that detects daylight. If this sensor is covered or in darkness for a period of time, like when you’re in a tunnel during the daytime, it may activate Ambient Lighting.

When I use Link to Drive Mode, can I choose different colors to correspond with the drive modes?

No. The colours for Link to Drive Mode are preset and can’t be changed.
