ABOUT YOUR REAR CAMERA MIRROR

Rear Camera Mirror uses a camera to provide you a wide and less obstructed view behind the vehicle while you’re driving. You can switch between the camera view and a traditional rearview mirror at anytime.

Using Your Rear Camera Mirror

Rear Camera Mirror allows you to choose between a traditional  rearview mirror or a camera view unobstructed by the vehicle’s pillars,  decklid, roof, head restraints and rear-seat occupants.

A rear-looking camera located at the back of your vehicle shows an image  of the area behind your vehicle in the rearview mirror. The camera’s  location may vary depending on the vehicle.

Switch between the Rear Camera Mirror and the traditional rearview mirror by  pulling or pushing the tab under the inside rearview mirror. Adjust the  traditional mirror first, then change to the Rear Camera Mirror.

To adjust your Rear Camera Mirror’s image, use one of the following methods depending on the model:

  • Your vehicle may be equipped with a button on the rear of the mirror to adjust brightness only
  • Some vehicles may instead be equipped with three MENU buttons to the right  of the tab under the mirror. These allow you to adjust brightness, tilt  and zoom, which may help you see specific areas behind you better:
    •    Press the LEFT button to adjust the brightness, tilt or zoom
    •    Press the CENTER or RIGHT button to select the desired adjustment

Washing Your Rear Camera Mirror (if equipped)

You may use Camera Wash (if equipped) to keep the image clear without getting out of your vehicle.

In an SUV or crossover, when the rear window washer is used, the camera for the Rear Camera Mirror is also washed.

In a sedan without a rear window washer, there may be a separate control for Camera Wash (if equipped). Look for it at the end of the wiper stalk, marked with both VIDEO and WASH icons. If the control is a rotating knob, turn the control away from you to wash the camera for the Rear Camera Mirror; if the control is a push button, simply push the button at the end of the wiper stalk.

Q&As
DOES THE IMAGE IN THE MIRROR GO AWAY WHEN I SHIFT OUT OF REVERSE LIKE IT DOES WITH THE REAR VISION CAMERA?

No. The Rear Camera Mirror image stays in the mirror until you change to the traditional rearview mirror that shows a reflection.

WHAT WOULD KEEP THE REAR CAMERA MIRROR FROM WORKING AS EXPECTED?

Snow, rain or dirt can obscure the rear-looking camera. Or, if it’s not properly cleaned, the system might not work optimally.

IS THERE A SEPARATE TANK FOR WASHER FLUID THAT I HAVE TO FILL FOR CAMERA WASH?

No. Camera Wash uses the same tank that’s used to supply the washer for the front and rear windows (if equipped).
